It started as Skycam Media LLC in 2008, the year Joe began flying; when Skycam LLC objected to the shared name, the business became Aerialcam Media. FAA Part 107–cleared pilots, insured on every job, and obsessive about safety and story.

Aerialcam has been redefining visual storytelling from the sky since 2008 — the year Joe began flying, back when the business was Skycam Media. Established as Aerialcam Media LLC in 2017, its work has graced film and landmark productions, some of Texas’ finest land and ranch properties, and cities across the state.
We operate to the highest standards set by the FAA. Our pilots are Part 107 compliant and the company is insured for each job. Safety is the bedrock of our operations — from pre-flight assessments to real-time monitoring during operations, the well-being of our team and the environments we navigate comes first.
The person behind the plane

Aerialcam Media was founded and is operated by Joe Doran — an FAA Part 107 remote pilot, a private (fixed-wing) pilot, a working professional photographer, and a Texas land-and-ranch Realtor. The business started as Skycam Media (skycammedia.com) in 2008, when Joe began flying aerial work across Central and South-Central Texas. In 2017, Skycam LLC — a different company — objected to the shared name, so Joe let go of Skycam Media; it became Aerialcam Media LLC — a Texas S-Corporation that it remains today. Joe combines aviation, cinematography, and hands-on knowledge of land to capture it accurately and tell its story from the air. The same eye that frames a ranch from 300 feet reads the property the way a buyer would — because most weeks, that's the job.
